I graduated with a BS in Home Economics-Food Nutrition, my first job was as a Dietician at Victory Lake Nursing Home in Hyde Park, NY. Quickly discovering dietetics was NOT for me, I went to Washington, DC, and worked at Howard University Hospital as an admin. asst. for 1 yr.
December 1976, we were married and went to Pine Forge Academy where Charles and I worked for 9 yrs. Our first child, Marwan, was born in 1981.
We moved to lead church schools in Wilmington, DE and Memphis, TN, my father’s hometown. I enjoyed being near family. Our second child, Omari, was born in 1986. I was an Interior Decorator and established my company, Three Solutions. I provided private piano lessons to100+ students, presented health seminars and served as pianist for two churches. After our marriage terminated, I stayed in Memphis for 27 yrs.
In 2008, I moved to Huntsville, Al. I was Research Asst. in the E.G. White Estates at Oakwood University, then Admin. Asst. to Dr.’s Baker and Pollard for 7 yrs. Currently– I am the Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving.
Marwan is married to Leah Miller; they live in Laurel, MD with my “grand dogs”, Float and Diesel. Omari lives in Los Angeles, CA. Both of my sons are graduates of Oakwood.
I’m enjoying traveling and getting ready for my FIRST cruise in October.
I’ve survived cancer and multiple heart breaks, but God has bountifully blessed me.
