Louraine Mitchell-Meyers Biography

Louraine Mitchell-Meyers, a native of California, attended Oakwood College from 1971-73 and continued her education at the University of La Verne in Southern California, setting the foundation for a career in healthcare.  Louraine married in 1974, and has two sons, a daughter-in-love and five remarkable grandchildren.

Her 43 year career in Healthcare Management began at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she honed her skills and expertise. Louraine’s career culminated with her role as Practice Manager for Coast Hematology-Oncology Associates in 2018.

Beyond her professional achievements, Louraine has a passion for travel, music, reading and Women’s Ministries.   Louraine launched “Reading With Passion,” a book club she founded in 1996 focused on works by African-American authors.  This long-established club reflects her commitment to literacy and the celebration of diverse voices.

Continuing to stay active and involved in her church, Louraine balances retirement life with serving as Church Administrative Assistant.
